Goat Labneh is strained goat yogurt which is dried, formed into balls and preserved in olive oil. It is part of the middle eastern cuisine, especially in Lebanon. It is high in probiotics, proteins and low in lactose. It is also low in calories, and has plenty of vitamins and minerals.
The best way to eat goat labneh is with some veggies and olive oil. A small sandwich can be filling and delicious and provides only 200 calories.
- 30g whole wheat bread
- 1 medium size goat Labneh in oil (30g)
- 1 tsp. olive oil
- Vegetables: lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes
Spread the goat labneh in the middle of a small loaf of whole wheat pita bread (or any equivalent). Add the sliced vegetables, tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce, and drizzle the olive oil on it. The vegetables, especially the tomatoes will give it a wonderful juicy taste. Enjoy!!
